Shane Ricketts MSc Osteopathy

Shane is a dedicated osteopath committed to providing comprehensive care and personalized treatment to his patients. With a passion for holistic health and 20 years of osteopathic experience, Shane brings a unique approach to everyone he treats.

He graduated with a Masters in osteopathy at Victoria University in Melbourne, where he developed a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and osteopathic techniques.

With a focus on patient-centred care, Shane takes the time to listen to his patients’ concerns, thoroughly assess their condition, and develop a tailored treatment plan to address their specific needs. Whether it’s relieving pain or improving mobility and function, Shane addresses the root cause of dysfunction and provides education on self- care strategies. He believes in empowering his patients with knowledge and tools to take an active role in their health and well-being. Shane utilises a variety of gentle osteopathic techniques including cranial osteopathy; a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on the subtle movements of the skull, spine and body to improve cranial mobility, and restore optimal function to the nervous system and enhance the individual’s natural healing mechanisms.

He has had the pleasure to work alongside some very experienced osteopaths. Including Pili Munoz and Anthony Norrie at Stillpoint Osteopathic Centre in Auckland, one of New Zealand’s largest paediatric osteopathy clinics.

He also worked with leading cranial osteopath Maxwell Fraval at Canberra Osteopathic Centre, and then with George Stylian in Sydney. Shane has also been lucky enough to learn the Biodynamic osteopathy approach with Robyn Seamer and Manuela Da Rin. Shane has a special interest in treatment of babies and children for many different conditions, along with adults for conditions such as headaches, migraines, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, post-concussion & head trauma and stress- related disorders.

In his practice, Shane creates a safe and nurturing environment where patients feel heard and supported throughout their healing journey. He takes the time to listen attentively to his patients concerns.

Outside of the practice, Shane enjoys teaching Qigong and meditation, while also enjoying cooking, movies, tramping and catching up with friends. Get to know more about Shane
